Mitchell is an entrepreneur, innovator, and trusted leader at the intersection of technology, cities, and investment. Mitchell is currently an Executive Team Member of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) at the U.S. Department of Transportation, where he is leading strategic initiatives to advance vehicle safety and the deployment of autonomous vehicles.

Previously, Mitchell was the Co-founder of Venture Smarter, an enterprise tech startup focused on building a platform to accelerate the development of smart cities. He led the company's strategy and corporate development, including partnerships with venture capital and private equity firms. Mitchell has also served as an advisor to venture-backed startups and various venture capital firms.

Additionally, Mitchell served as the senior Policy Counsel to US Senate Leadership on technology, transportation, and infrastructure. Before that Mitchell was a Counsel to the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform for emerging technologies, cybersecurity, and national security matters.
